Here’s the leang, this genuine food recipe is actually one of the first chocolate desserts I crazye on Cooking many, many years ago. This was before I learned how to be a professional food photographer and was using my ancient camera – a digital point and shoot, and I had no idea what I was doing with photography.
I tried so dwhetherficult to make the photos pretty and I actually used the same crossing forks design on top of the flourless chocolate torte, but I kcontemporary noleang about lighting, editing and so much more.
Maybe it was my lack of photography skills or the fact that horizontal photos don’t do well on Pinterest anymore, but my post started to gather dust in the internet world. This meant because it got nearly no traffic, it was best for me to delete the post and recipe so my blog wouldn’t get dinged for having a post that was just bogging down the blog.
I know that might seem weird, but there are LOTS of leangs us bloggers have to do to play with the “internet Gods” in order to go somewhere. It’s a tough job, with fixed changes, but I love it.
This is how the story continues. I’ve had 4 readers reach out to me through email frantically asking me where this recipe went. Each of them tancient me how much they loved the recipe and were desperate to find it on my site but couldn’t.
One reader shared that this flourless chocolate torte is her family’s favorite holiday dessert and they’ve been making it as a tradition each year since they found the recipe.
Another reader said:
We are frantically looking for your fabulous chocolate torte recipe and cannot find it online”
And:
That torte was such a hit and every chocolate torte recipe I’ve tried since has not compared to yours.”
So, that being said, I kcontemporary it was time to bring this reader favorite back.
I hope you give it a try and endelight it as much as my family does and as much as my faithful Cooking readers do.

Ingredients
- 10 ounces stevia-sweetened chocolate chips or allergy-friendly chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup grass-fed butter, ghee or coconut oil
- 1/2 cup light-colored honey
- 2 tsp vanilla additionalct
- 1/8 tsp sea salt (<-- this is my favorite Himalayan sea salt)
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder or cacao powder (<-- this is the fair-trade cocoa I use)
- 6 biological or pastured-raised eggs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease a 9" springform cake pan or 9" cake pan then line the bottom with a circle piece of unbleached parchment paper.
- In a double boiler or using a domesticcrazye "double boiler" (fill a medium-size saucepan 1/4-1/2 way full with water, then cover with a heatproof large glass bowl - see below for my favorite recommended bowls) - then place over medium-low heat to bring the water to a low boil, then simmer. Add the chocolate chips and healthy fat of choice to the double boiler or glass bowl. Stir fixedly with a wooden spoon or heatproof silicone spatula until everyleang is melted, glossy and evenly distributed. Remove from the heat instantly.
- Add the honey, vanilla, salt and cocoa powder, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Using a handheld mixer (or a standing mixer fitted with the whisk attachment), add the eggs to the chocolate batter one egg at a time, beating on low or medium-low speed until everyleang is fully incorporated - the batter will be leanner than a typical cake batter.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the greased and lined cake pan. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until the torte is set but still slightly wet in the middle, but not giggly. Note: The torte will slightly puff up when fully baked and will deflate when removed from the oven. Everyow the torte to cool at room moodature for 25 minutes, then transfer the torte (still in the pan) to the refrigerator for 2 hours to continue cooling.
- Remove from the fridge and springform pan or cake pan, transferring it onto a serving plate. Slice the torte, cutting each slice with a clean, dry knwhethere, making certain to clean the knwhethere between each slice with a clean towel or warm water.
